February Obsessions

I’ve had a lot of time on my hands this month, so I wanted to share with you some of the stuff I’ve been into lately.

“Downton Abbey”

If you’ve never tried watching “Downton Abbey,” I suggest you “get involved,” as my boyfriend likes to say. I really had my doubts about this show, being that it takes place in the 1900’s, but it’s absolutely addicting! I love the portrayal or strong women, and of course the scandal and drama that comes along. It’s just like a novela! The season finale is this Sunday on PBS, but season 1 can be found on Netflix, and season 2 on PBS.org.

“Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” (And Other Concerns)

I was a huge fan of “Bossy Pants” by Tina Fey, and this book is similar, with its witty humor. My girlfriend, Luci, gave this book as a gift for Christmas. It’s probably one of the best gifts you could give another girl, especially one with a sense of humor. Besides the fact that it was fun to read, I really enjoyed learning about Mindy Kaling’s (comedic writer and actor for “The Office”) journey to becoming who she is today. It really gives girls the encouragement to continue to pursue their dreams.

Nail Art

I’m trying to do fun stuff with my nails, so I painted hearts for Valentine’s Day. Ya dig?

Pinterest inspired hair-dos

I love playing with make-up, changing my style, etc., but when it comes to hair, I suck! If I’m going out, my go-to thing is flat ironing my hair, which is starting to look so boring. Other than that, it’s always pulled back and sloppy. I’m trying to change that this year, so lately I’ve been looking at tutorials on Pinterest and trying my best. My fun bun on Valentine’s Day was a success, and took much less time than straightening. Yay!
